    Help!

I've tried searching this forum for answers and have downloaded lots of suggested drivers from other threads, but none have worked - so sorry if it is posted else where!

Can anybody provide links for Windows 7 drivers for my VGN Z21Z - specifically the motion eye web cam and the function buttons. Currently I have installed the 32 bit version of Win 7 because I could only find 32 bit graphics card drivers for my computer - but will happily change to the 64 bit version!

    Thanks in advance!

Search is your friend. There are numerous threads here about this very topic. Use the drop down search tool (NOT the one at the very top of the page, it sucks), the one in the bar directly under the "Welcome Far_Ted" banner. (And NOT the "Search this thread" one.) There will be two options: "Google Search Forums" and "Search Forums" chose the Google one since it allows two character search terms. Then in the box type "FZ Win7" (without the quotes) or "FZ Windows7" and you should be able to find the thread. Look for the one from Rajesh (aka Coolguy) if you want the scoop on going to 64bit. There are other threads about 32 bit as well.

The easiest way is to not do a clean install, instead doing an in place upgrade from Vista to Win7. You could always use the hidden recovery partition to restore back to the out of the box state (after saving your data to some external device of course) then apply Vista SP2 and the do the in place upgrade. For details about the in place upgrade on an FZ see my signature line below. There is a link there.

A quick recap of my FZ21Z Windows 7 64 bit install:

All downloads mentioned below are from
    Link1: ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/ORIGINAL/
    Link2: http://support.vaio.sony.eu/os/vista/64bit/

    1. Installed Windows 7 64 bit clean

    2. Installed SFEP_DRIVER_SONY_8.0_09Q3_O_7_8.0.1.1.zip from Device Manager and rebooted

    3. Installed SONY_SHARED_LIBRARY_5.4_5.4.0.05200.zip

    4. Installed VAIO_EVENT_SERVICE_5.0_5.0.0.07010.zip

    5. Installed VAIO_CONTROL_CENTER_4.0_4.0.0.06120.zip

    6. Installed SETTING_UTILITY_SERIES_5.0_5.0.0.07300.zip

    7. Installed VAIO_POWER_MANAGEMENT_4.0_4.0.0.08240.zip

    8. Installed TI SD/MS driver EP0000140007.zip from link 2. I had some problems with one I found on link 1.

    9. Installed POINTING_DRIVER_ALPS_7.202B_64_7.202.505.108.zip

    10. Installed AUDIO DRIVER SIGMATEL_5.0Q083QDS_6.10.5921.0_LOGO.zip

    11. Installed Nvidia EP0000146244 from link 2. There are most likely a newer one but this one works.

    12. Installed Camera Driver (Ricoh) 6..211F - 6.1004.211.0_logo which you find on the original FZ21_Drivers.zip It may be old but it works.

    13. Installed VAIO CAMERA CAPTURE UTILITY 2.7(081Q)_ 2.7.03.09250

All Fn and media buttons work. S1 only brings up Vaio Control Center. If you need to customize the S1 button search for it in the forum.

AV Mode button does not work but you can find info in the forum on how to enable it. I never used it before so I skipped it.

It is very likely that there are newer versions of the drivers listed above but I can not verify if they are better or work at all at the moment.

    Good luck!

    /F

I never installed the Sony bluetooth drivers as the ones with Windows 7-64 worked out of the box. What kind of problem do you have?
