    hello all.

i bought a vaio vgn-n160g a few years back and I absolutely love it, performance is great. when it was new the battery lasted nearly 4 hours, and did all the things nice new laptops do

a few months ago it started acting funny. the battery has died out pretty bad, only get 20 minutes tops (btw does anyone know a source for good replacements that are reliable?)

the main problem is that when it is unplugged the laptop will cut completely off after a random amount of time, just shut down. it won't boot back up until you plug it in to the power. i tried pulling out the battery and reinserting and nothing. (and yes the battery did have a charge.) Also the plug for the power in the back is loose and i have to position the charger elbow a certain way to make a connection otherwise it will run on batter and die again, occasionally it seems like it just wont make a solid connection.

is anyone else having these problems with their sony's? it's becoming a big issue because my laptop is now tethered to 7 feet from an outlet. any info would be great! thanks in advance.
