    Hello

Recently I installed Windows 7 on my Vaio (NR11S/S) and it's been working great. However there's a huge problem with battery life - now I get only 30 minutes! When I was using Vista it was something like 2 hours (or more)...

I don't mind that much, most of the time I'm on AC power, but it bothers me sometimes.

Does anyone have the same problem with battery life on Windows 7?

    Cheers

    Maybe you have old BIOS.

Well, I didn't update it, to be honest, but all I've found on Sony website was just one update for BIOS:

    Code:
    BIOS Update Version R0131J9

This update provides compatibility with the updated Wireless Lan Driver Atheros 7.4B - 7.4.2.15
So I don't know does it help or not... They don't mention anything about the battery.

Everything works fine, except this poor battery life :(

I've installed from a scratch, formatted the hard drive and voila. Then I realized the battery doesn't work fine anymore. You think it might be something to do with BIOS and ACPI?

Thanks, I have read about it too, but the thing is I'm not getting any message like that, about replacing the battery (however my colleague is getting one on his HP notebook, after installing Windows 7).

It looks alright, first it shows me something like "3 hours left" but it's not true of course. The real time is ~30 minutes only, then it dies. I wonder what's wrong, I installed some utilities from Sony for battery management, but it doesn't help at all. Still only ~30 minutes, that's it.

Has anyone noticed this problem too?
