My Sony VGN-NR398D of course came with Vista Home Premium.

Some time ago, I successfully updated it to Vista Ultimate. The ONLY hitch to that was unplugging the ethernet cable until the final re-boot.

Now, Sony does not recommend upgrading this laptop to Windows 7, and therefore has not released any official Windows 7 drivers.

However, I successfully upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate on this machine with no problems other than ESET Security 4 needed to be un-installed and re-installed. All other apps on this machine seem to be running perfectly.

This note written just so those wondering if they can/should/want to upgrade, there were no adverse affects on my install.
