I remember there were a website that hosts official VISTA drivers for various componets, however I forgot the URL, does anyone know what I am talking about? I think it was semi-sponsered by Microsoft. Anyways, I upgraded my notebook last night to vista, and I am having tons of problem locating drivers. but after windows update, it found 3 drivers and installed them, however I am still missing the ADI Soundmax driver and the Sony Mass storage driver for my card reader. am I done? not to mention my notebook can't even run AERO, as my index was only at 1.9 for Aero performance..![]()
so here are a couple of my questions,
1. Does anyone know the offical Vista website's URL?
2. Does anyone know if I can use the old XP sound card and mass storage driver?
3. Any way to tweak my Radeon 9200 to make it support the aero?
4. Can I cheat the Vista and let it enable the aero?

I guess no one knows my answer, oh well.. but since I am going back to Windows XP, so I did all the experiment I can on the vista before going back, here is what I found, and it may work with other series of notebook too. it seems vista will work with XP's driver for memory stick from sony's website, however when I tried the ADI soundmax driver for the XP, it didn't work. so hope that helps other people as they may face the same if not similar issues.

There is no way to make ATI 9200 support AERO. It does not meet the hardware requirement for AERO.
By the way, Sony will provide the Vista drivers of S150 and S260 eventually, although S1XX and S2XX are not on the support list for VISTA. It is because S360, which is almost identical in hardware with S1XX and S2XX, is on the Vista support list. I heard Sony would post the Vista drivers for S3XX series by April from some japanese sources. You can use S360 vista drivers for S150.
Actually, ADI soundmax driver for XP works in vista. Just install manually. But the quality of sound output is a bit distorted and not so good. So wait for its vista driver.
Samsung's one of Vista capable PCs, NT-R55 uses the same ADI soundmax ad1981b chip, and Samsung will post the vista driver sometime soon. You can use the Samsung audio driver for S150.
