    Hello.

I have bought a VGN-S5HP and I have installed 1 extra Ram module. In the end I have got 1.5gb. Windows recognizes it and everything works. The Geforce 6400 go, which normally has 128mb gets 256mb with the new ram module. Nice.

Problems begin when I go for games (Call of Duty 2, Age of Empires III). The pc freezes. I think there is something not working with the Nvidia drivers. I have tried different drivers, the normal one which were tweaked in order to work on Go chips.... nothing changes.

The system freezes, I can see the blue screen of windows telling me which memory address caused the problem and then the system restarts.

When I take the ram module away everything works fine again, also the games.

Anyone has any idea how I could fix this?

    Thanks.

Not sure as im not a guru so dont take this as gospel, but im fairly sure for the two sticks to work properly they have to be the same size (i.e two 512 sticks) and make (i.e two crucial of same spec) or you might get a conflict

    Hi!

Yes I know what you are talking about: so far as I know to use the dual channel feature that is within DDR ram you should have always the same amount of memory.

But... I thought this was only a way to increase the speed. I'm not very familiar with this turbocache. I will read further.

    Thanks.
