I still don't understand why this is happening, never seen it before anyway, it works just fine when i plug it in, but when i unplug it using battery mode, extremely slow, does anyone know the reason why?

It sounds like you may have the battery mode set to 'power saver'. Try changing to 'balanced' or 'performance' in the vaio control center, accessible through vista/xp program menu. Hope this helps. Best, Oliver

Actually what are you doing on your computer?

I was using Vaio optimized, Vaio powersave and Vaio powersave plus on different occasions and couldn't notice a difference in performance.
