It should only have the antenna is you have added the WWAN option with SPRINT. If not, then it won't be on there, and it won't affect your WLAN reception in any way. Hope that helps.

It can be removed very easily, basically just pull it out. You can buy a cap from Sony to cover the hole.

I purchased my Vaio SZ780NW from Portable One. Will be receiving my 780 next week. I use Sprint service, therefore the antenna is vital for my business. When it's docked, I will remove the antenna and plug up the hole with the Sony cap. Be sure you remove all of the bloatware from it before using it. You can purchase the DVD from P1 that would automate the process. Let us know how you like your unit.

I've got the same antenna (for cingular) and I can't use it in my country. I don't need it, but it is not as obtrusive as it looks, you can pull it wdown so it is flush with the keyboard, and you won't even notice it.

I REALLY dislike the antenna...but I suppose some people need it. I doubt that most do however. Just my humble opinion.

Hoping the next S series will have an internal WWAN antenna.

    Dear friends
I bought a sz780 n05,but it doesn't have any antenna on the right side. Can my notebook have this service(wwan),or it doesn't have necessery electronic boards inside. Moreover on the left side there is a place to add some devices(i don't know what)Does your laptops have anything in this place?
