    Hello world,

    I just bought a VGN-SZ95US vaio.

I decided to resize the partition and the program messed up this part.

fortunately the Vaio recovery Partition (EISA) was intact.

I booted up the Vaio Recovey Utility by pessing F10.
I wanted to do a factory full restore BUT it shows me an error telling this "the disk may be too small or doesn't exist)
I don't have the recovery Cd...

I am a bit lost and confused beause i bought this Vaio few weeks ago while i ws in Japan.
I don't even know how to get a Recovery Cd from Vaio Japan.

the Vaio Utility doesn't recognize the disk as an original Vaio Hardware...

    Help me please.

    best of regards

    D.

You can create a backup recovery within Windows.
Go to Help and Support -> VAIO Support -> Launch Recovery Wizard.
I am not remember exactly the link but it should be similar above.

    Ok,

After my Vaio was formated and partition resized, the recovery disk ulility was not able to verify if my hardware was Vaio.

I was not able to use the recovery cd because of error (please read above)

I installed an OEM version of vista and entered my Vaio original Key.
I also installed some Vaio shared library ans other stuffs found in the recovery cd.

I also tried to use Vaio Update (but it was not working since it was unable to check my vaio model)

I tried so many things to make this working that i feel a bit lucky on this problem.
BUT i was able to update to the Lastest bios (manual update)

The Use of the recovery DVD inside windows was not helpful because it works better with the hidden partition (eisa)... mine was gone

but for those who still have the recovery partion but no recovery dvd, you have access to it with backup software program such Norton Ghost 12...

I copied the content of the recovery partition to an ext disk and had the possibility to make a recovery dvd from the recovery tools... from another vista system
    ----------------
i made a mistake with the erase tools that fully erased the recovery partition, so be carefull with this one

I deleted the recovery partion (damn me)
    ----------------

Thaks to the recovery dvd ...

From This point i have been able to fully restore (the recovery partition and the system) with no more errors or crashes
