    Hi

We've recently purchase 40 units of VGN-TX2XP (UK) for our new laptop roll out project. As such we are required to completley rebuild the laptops from scratch.

So on a test unit I've completey reformatted the drives and also removed the recovery partition.

I've got a install of Windows XP SP2 Volume License Edition installed. I've installed the correct drivers for the hardware and all seems to be working well so far.

Now it comes to the part of trying to get some of the sony utilities to work and the extra buttons/keyboard funtions FN+Key to work. For example

When pushing FN+F7 this allows you to choose of where the output mode goes for the video signal, I little gray overlay popped up with the preinstalled OS. Currently this is not working and the only way to alter this is to use options within the graphics options.

Another example is the series of buttons for AV mode, now I know that I'm never going to get the AVMode back as its some sort of a bootable linux OS, but it would be useful to have the eject button working.

I've opened up the VAIO Control Centre applet and tried to open "AV Mode Button Settings" but this just comes back with the error "Cannon Start this application"

Has anyone else bought these laptops for business use and had to do a fresh install and care to share any tips of getting some of the sony utils/fuctions working?

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Doug

Seems that in the zip files provided from the sony site they forgot to include an important installed called "Sony Shared Library" luckily I managed to find a copy on a 3rd party site and once this was installed everything started working =)
