I have a Vaio VGN-TZ17GN that was bought in New Zealand and has a US International keyboard. I would rather like to fit a UK keyboard complete with £ sign (UK Pound).
I have seen several used keyboards offered for sale but am uncertain if they will fit my particular flavour of the TZ series. Can any one advise me on this or point me to a source of part numbers where I can check suitability?
Thanks.

...A Kiwi perhaps..?
Anyways, all TZ machines are the same internally, minus the little differences such as the lid colour (some Japanese ones even came in pink), RAM types, HDD sizes etc etc. As such, a part from a 3rd gen TZ will work in a 1st gen TZ if fitted in the correct fashion, regardless of the country of sale.
A UK keyboard (a European keyboard to be precise) has the enter key which looks like a '7' key.
eBay is your friend for used parts (if you're fine with that is, as they are cheaper)
SONY VAIO VGN TZ SERIES UK KEYBOARD P/N 148023651 - eBay (item 310265280302 end time Nov-24-10 19:44:24 PST)
Or, you can try Laptop Parts & Repair, Notebook Computer Repair, Printer Parts - Spare Parts Warehouse and flick them an email asking whether they can stock a UK (or aka European) keyboard and sell one to you.
A word of caution though. VAIO parts are HORRENDOUSLY expensive as standalone objects. Keyboards for the VGN-Z for example, go into US$250+ regions from Sony Parts, to as low as US$150 on eBay (though they can be dodgy fakes or refurbished items being sold off as 'new'). I'd say to you to only buy a new part for your laptop only if ABSOLUTELY neccessary. -
I would suggest you try Sony direct in the UK. You might find out buying the keyboard of them is cheaper than what you can get some on ebay for. I bought a keyboard direct from Sony in the UK for my SZ a few months back. Keyboards on ebay were more expensive for used keyboards.
Try them first and ask for a UK keyboard.
If you or someone you know owns a Vaio that is in warranty that was bought in ehe EU you could contact them on the Vaio warranty number and ask for a TZ UK keyboard.

It's what i did when i needed to contact them with my questions about my TT that was bought outside of the EU.
