    Hi Guys,

Just sorting out the laptop I just purchased, one of the speakers is fried, are they easy to replace? anyone done it before? is soldering required?

Also are all VGN-Z speakers compatible with each other and are they the same unit?

Not hard to replace, but you need replacement parts.
I did it before. Soldering is not required.
    VGN-Z speakers are the same.
The part number is: 182695411 or 182695412

Yes, the VGN-Z speakers are bad, but at least they're better than the speakers in the VPC-Z.

Look at VGN-Z service manual. You will find what you are looking for. You need to remove the keyboard first, then the internal frame. The speakers are in this frame.
