Hi Guys,
Just sorting out the laptop I just purchased, one of the speakers is fried, are they easy to replace? anyone done it before? is soldering required?
Also are all VGN-Z speakers compatible with each other and are they the same unit?

Not hard to replace, but you need replacement parts.
I did it before. Soldering is not required.
VGN-Z speakers are the same.
The part number is: 182695411 or 182695412 -
Thanks for the reply NHT, what exactly do i need to remove? theonly experience I have so far is lifting the metal keyboard off the previous Z21

They are so terrible as is, u should just buy usb speakers. They are abysmal.

Yes, the VGN-Z speakers are bad, but at least they're better than the speakers in the VPC-Z.

Look at VGN-Z service manual. You will find what you are looking for. You need to remove the keyboard first, then the internal frame. The speakers are in this frame.
look at the holes on the left and right. -
can we replace them with some BOSE micro twits?
VGN-Z owners - ever replaced a speaker?
