    To open the Z46, just follow the youtube video
    You can replace the HDD by SSD with no problem. I had the Z48GD, I upgraded the WiFi to a WiFi ac and replace the DVD by another SSD :)

    If you are running Windows 7 or 8 at the moment, just upgrade to windows 10 (not fresh install), During windows installation, your display card driver will be removed, only Standard Display is install but it will work. your Nvidia display (SPEED Mode) will never work again.

    Indeed, I tried Andrew08 display driver for VAIO Z48GD, but experienced some problem, e.g. can't adjust brightness in SPEED mode, brightness can be adjust in STAMINA mode, and ocassionally flicking screen appear in STAMINA mode :(
    So I revert to basic, just use the default display driver bundle with Windows 10 installation, at least there is no problem on brightness adjustment and flicking screen is gone. This good enough for me on web browsing, office application and watching mkv.

    @Uruzu5
    Which mode have you set the controller to in BIOS? I think you should go with RAID mode, but you may try if you could use AHCI mode first. IDE would sure work as well but it's outdated by now.

    When in RAID mode, check 'show' to show the RAID configuration at boot. You will have to create a RAID volume first, this will then be visible to Windows setup.
