I virtually know nothing other than how to switch things on and off. On a recent visit to Tokyo I bought a Vaio VGN-TX 'cos its small and sexy and does not weight very much, Oh and it has a great screen. Anyway on the plane back home I fired it up and opened/installed its Adobe Elements so I could play with some of my photos.

Now whenever I try to open the built in manual all that opens is Adobe Elemnets. How do I stop that please? There is no other manual with it so I need to access the computer's own to go further. Many thanks for any help.

I don't understand your question. Are you asking why an electronic manual is opening in Adobe Elements?

No, all that happens when I click on any part of the electronic manual is that Elements opens up as if I was going to start working on a photo. The manual does not open within Elements. All I want to do is open my manual.

Maybe its because Elements has set itself as the default editor or something. Is your manual a PDF file? Then you can just right click and choose "Open With.." and select Adobe Reader. Or you can go to the settings in Elements and remove its default reader option.

Thanks. It would seem that Elements has set itself as a default reader and yes, the manual is a pdf. I can find no Settngs option in Elements or the Elements Installer. If I click on Vaio Manual in the start up menu, I get a window with 4 option - help, hardware guide, software guide and Important Notice. Right clicking on any of these does nothing - no menu opens up. If I left click on any of them Elements opens up and then a small window asking for a PDF security Passowrd?? I have not set any passwords. Maybe I should just go to Add/Remove and get rid of Elements.
