    Hello all,
I have bought a new e-series vaio with extended battery but its very disappointing. Is only lasting 2.5 hours.
Yesterday i found this battery for C-series Extended Battery Pack | VAIO® Large Capacity Battery | VGP-BPL26 | Sony USA

It is similar to what E-series battery looks like, just with the extra bulk.
Newegg also have it and saying its for E-series too. Newegg.com - SONY VAIO VGPBPL26 L-battery For C Series, E Series

So im asking if any1 have an idea if this battery would work with E-series too, or if any1 have already tried it.

    Thanks.

What is your computer model number? (it says it on the corner of the screen)

What is the model number of the battery you currently have? (this will be VGP-BP_ _ _)

    Thanks for the reply xxGenericSNxx.

Well my model is VPCEB3S1E/BQ, and im using the original battery for the E-Series VGP-BPS22A.

At the Sony's webpage it says that the VGP-BPL26 is only for CA and CB models, But it actually fits in E-Series too (i think).. and also Newegg have it listed as E-Series battery too.
Thats why im asking because im confused if it really can be used in E-Series too. That would be awesome because the extended battery of E-Series is useless.

So although I can't answer your question for sure, I can give you my opinion. I don't think the BPL26 will work on your computer. I think there are only two batteries that will work on yours, VGP BPS22A and the VGP BPL22 (the extended battery made for your computer).

Even though the BPL26 might "look" like it'll fit, Sony has been known to have the same battery shape but ever so slightly different mounting points. This allows Sony to charge more for their batteries since the batteries aren't interchangeable with other models in their line. I don't know why it's listed as compatible with the E series but maybe it's for a different version or they have the listing wrong.

If you have access to a Sony Style store near you, you should bring your computer in and see if the BPL26 on their CA and CB display models work with your computer. Then you know which battery you should purchase.

And as an aside, whatever you do, I highly discourage anyone from buying non genuine- non Sony batteries. Third party batteries require a bios hack to get it properly working with Sony computers since there's some kind of chip in the Sony battery that shakes hands with the computer when it's booting up. It's not worth potentially bricking your computer to save a few dollars on a new battery.

One clarification question, I don't quite understand what you mean by saying you have the extended battery. Your current battery is a BP S22 signifying Standard capacity. The Extended battery for your computer is BP L22 signifying Long.
