I upgraded from Win7 and the SD card reader works fine.

Also the speed increment is very noticeable, especially in starting up the system. I've heard that the OS uses half as memory as Win7 but I can't confirm that.

@mnm372, where did you get SD/MS driver with setup to make it compatible? On Sony site I see only the 2 following drivers: Memory Card Reader Writer Driver Ricoh and Memory Card Reader Writer Driver Ricoh SD and both contain only *.inf, *.cab and *.sys files. How did you make it compatible?

    Thanks

Can you provide an idea of how much faster the boot time is? What is the before/after? My Z13 boots up in about 25-30 seconds, my Z22 in about 15-20. Not sure how much faster one really needs??

It boots in around 16-17 seconds, from pressing the button to the login screen.

    Hey guys!
Massive work done here with drivers but still I'm unable to run a proper W8 installation at my VPC12x9e/x. So I planned just to wait for an official update (with some polygons at screen;D ). I've asked UK Sony Support and they wasn't able to tell me if and when updates might be released. Maybe you know something more? Can't believe that I'm stuck under W7 at laptop with all this specs.
Would be so glad for any news!

i used to old ones (windows 7) from sony support: Sony eSupport - VPCZ112GX - Support

change it to run on compatibility mode with Windows 7. then i would suggest you to try several time inserting the sd card, because i'm not sure if i'm the only one to have a problem with sony sd card slot, even on windows 7 i have to insert and remove it at least 10 times before the card would be detected, maybe some connection issue, but all my sony laptop have done this when it comes to sd card. for memory stick though it's a bliss, not compatibility mode, it works flawlessly
