    Hi guys.

In the power plan settings I set the sleep button to "sleep"but whenever I press Fn + F12 it goes into hibernation. Anyone knows how to fix this problem. Its driving me nuts.

    Thanks

In power settings, I only see options for 'Lid' and 'Power Button.'

Interesting... Might be because I've got a VPC-Z11.

Did your z11 come with W7 professional ? I think the reason you dont have this option might be related to windows instead of the computer hardware.

I thought the "sleep button action" defined the Fn + F12 action. The weird thing is if I completely disable hibernation then Fn + F12 works as intended (puts computer to sleep) but I need to have hibernation enabled so that would not be a viable solution.

It came with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I'm still running the original install with whatever updates that came through VAIO Update.

I also only see options for 'Lid' and 'Power Button' in my power management settings (I have a Z13). The only way I could assign a key to make the PC go to sleep was to use autohotkey (which enables you to assign scripts to keys).

Whats the problem with just shutting the lid? Assign lid close to sleep .

Well ya. Since you disabled the lowest power state, it didnt have any other option but to got sleep. I think its hard coded to goto the lowest power state.
