    Hello,

I read threads that this computer dies after x weeks.
I wanted to purchase one, is there any truth to this?

Maybe this was just an odd case.

    Thanks

Where did you read about it. It's a total bull c...p. I bought mine 3 months ago and its working great except normal issues like: high pitch noise which is annoying as hell. I will call Sony soon. The second thing that bothers me is the spacebar. I will perform fix myself.

Laptop is great, although I upgraded harddrive to Intel X-25m ssd drive. I'm running 3 vm's, I have open adobe reader and i'm logged on to a school website and there is still plenty of power left. Wow, my Q6600, 6GB ram desktop with 9800gt and raid raptors was slower than this VAIO.

Screen isn't the best, I agree but still it's a sweet computer. Before I got it I was thinking between sony F and dell 1764.

Yes it is full hd. The problem is in viewing angle, glossy surface and backlighting. Sony F series has some issues but i really love. I was aware of the issues before I bought it in Best Buy. I exchange it once though and kept it.
