Hello, all.
Ok. Did a reformat and installed appropriate drivers from sony's support site. However having a few problems with performance... What am I missing?
Also, there is an issue with sony's power management drivers/software: an error message stating that the laptop's battery is not compatible and then shutsdown.. So I dont use those drivers/software.
I have nvidia's latest drivers for the 330M, audio drivers are fine, intel's rapid storage technology is working properly... intel's chipsets are updated (to my knowledge - as long as sony's support website is up to date..)
all system drivers should be installed properly...... I just dont get it.
The laptop acts as if it is running on 1/10th the processing power, hanging up on the smallest of actions or applications (just opening the start menu, for example..)
Any help would be great, I would sure hate to go through another 30 hour process and start this thing over.
I have a feeling ive missed something very basic and obviously necessary... I just don't know what... This isnt my first fresh OS install....
Thanks in advance
~vell

I'm not sure specifically what's affecting your performance but from the battery message, it sounds like you haven't installed all the necessary software. You can start off by making sure these are installed:
I'm assuming you installed Vaio Care. If not you need to do that and click on recovery and then reinstall apps and drivers to install these programs
-Sony Shared Library
-VAIO Location Utility
-Vaio Update
-VAIO Hardware Diagnostics Software
-Battery Checker
-Setting Utility Series
-VAIO Event Service
-VAIO Control Center
-VAIO Power Management
-Smart Wi
-Sony Notebook Utilities
Check your Sony support page for any updates to these programs. These may not all be on your Vaio care app list. Some may be on the support page. Others may not be either place. But look both places and install any of these that are available. I have a different model so I don't know what's on your computer.
Edit: Also check the Vaio Care apps and drivers list to make sure there are no drivers you are missing or other apps that seem applicable to the problems you are having. -
OK. I will give that a try... I dont have vaio care installed... So, lets hope that works.
Thanks for the reply. -
Is there an order that I should follow in the installation of these drivers? And the vaio power management software... I haven't been able to install that without the battery compatibility error, which a shutdown follows...
ANY help out there? I understand that this might be trivial to most of you, and trust me - I would agree... But this is something that I've had an issue with now for quite some time... -
You can see if this helps you:
Vaio_F_Series Clean Install Guide
Then you can look for help in the F series owners lounge. -
Awesome... I know the answers are out there for me to find... just needed a push in the right direction... This should help tons... Appreciate it Bud.
VPCF127FX is SLOOW after a reformat and drivers installed... Help!
