    Hi,

Normal operation is when my lappy is sleeping the power light on the side blinks orange. When you wake it up (pressing the power button), it turns steady green and the turns on.

Well....mine doesnt do that anymore. My laptop was unplugged and drained the battery. When I hooked up the power supply and then tried to turn it on. The power button will blink (the same amount of time of the orange sleep cycle), and it will start off dim green for less than a second, then go full green and then recycle to off and the cycle starts over again, also the caps lock, number lock, scroll lock light blink) .
One would think (by looking at the power button light) it was sleeping. the light is not orange, but its green. Seems to me like it thinks it in sleep mode, but on power side.

    I have tried:
    removing and re installing memory
took out battery and tried with just AC
I know the battery is charging....when the battery was dead, and I left it plugged in overnight, I can disconnect the AC power and it will still cycle.

Lastly...when I keep the power button pressed the charge light comes on (I guess thats a test to see if the battery is getting a charge?)

    Thanks in advance!

I am having exactly the same problem, starting 10 days or so ago.

It does eventually come up, but sometimes only after hours of cycling through the green light flashes. I think this is similar to trying to wake it up when the battery is dead and not on AC -- it goes green briefly before deciding it doesn't have enough power to come up.

The difference here is a) battery is fully charged and working and/or it's plugged in anyway and b) it keeps trying after each failure.

Good to hear I'm not the only one having the same problem (well not really). I talked with tech support and they are all saying they never seen it and the motherboard is bad...I'm trying to find a part number for the board to see if i can find one online...please let me know if you get anywhere, I really like this laptop, but dont want to spend the same amount has the laptop
