Had this model for less than a year! Toshiba 128GB on board.. Disabled hibernate and used 500MB physical.. Can't believe it died on me right before Xmas will all my latest photos in there..

Admittedly I was torrenting a lot this year so really only myself to blame. At least I had made copies of the recovery partition on a DVD+R DL so should be set.

Now here comes the question: Does anybody know if the SA4 series can take the normal 2.5" or does it require a 1.8" replacement? I am not really sure where to find a 1.8" in London to be honest. Ebay?

should prob add that i always maintained v little free space on the drive which is likely to be the biggest cause of failure. dont want to get anybody with a similar set up paranoid :D

Is your ssd physically dead? If not there are tons of recv tools out there that may get your photos back. Did that on "broken" SD cards dozens of times, always with success. Gl

so the lack of responses i guess indicates that my question was pretty stupid and you can of course use a 2.5" on the S series..

    tks :D

No need to get tensed as you can get back your lost data from your SSD. I would prefer you to contact a data recovery company as soon as possible and they will for sure recover your lost data. There are so many data recovery company you can search them online.

Dont be upset you will get back your valuable data.
