    Hello Folks,

Just purchased the optional extended battery pack for my Sony Vaio VPCSC31FM/S. Seems to be working fine, but the battery level indicator (in the system tray) keeps alternating back and forth from showing both batteries to only showing Battery #2. Also, when the extended battery gets low, it starts to show the low battery alert, although thee fully-charged primary battery is available.

Is this a known issue? Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Cheers, Ken

    UPDATE:

I finally figured out how to upgrade my bios from 2084H4 to 2085H4 (had to modify the model.txt file in the Windows directory), and that seems to have solved the problem with the battery recognition and battery level indicator accuracy.

All is now well in Vaio land.

    Cheers!
