I've had my Z1 for a while. I've seen on these forums that there's a way to update the video drivers, vastly increasing performance. All I want to do is play SC2 on medium settings and solid frame rate on this machine. How do I go about updating the video drivers so I can maintain the hybrid graphics and stamina / speed modes? Any help would really be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I can check when I get home. It's whatever default with the machine.

How do you get the driver file with the hybrid graphics too? How does it work?

I'm using nvidia 188.80 drivers. Again its what came with the computer by default.

There's a ton of info there and I'm really not sure how to make sense of all of it. I'd really appreciate some help :)

The latest driver that allow dynamic hybrid system on the Z is nvidia 263.14 with either intel 2281 or 2266 (both are working and I didn't remember the difference, dig in the thread for more about this).

Read the readme file attached to the driver you'll choose.
Basically, the install procedure is to uninstall your current driver while in speed mode, reboot, install the new one in speed mode too, reboot.
You'd better check out in the thread but it's very simple, it's the same procedure as for unsigned drivers without the signing crap (no test mode needed).

Where do I download that file? And how will that deal with the intel driver? I need to uninstall both? Or just nvidia?

I dunno, I've tried installing 263.14/2266 signed drivers numerous times and it has always failed in Windows 7 64 bit.

I've got it set to speed mode, I've got 2x standard VGA adaptors, one working, one not working and I've used Driversweeper to get rid of all previous nvidia driver files.

The installer gets to "installing hybrid graphics driver" and then I get a message stating "install failed".

If I let Windows automatically install Intel HD graphics drivers, I can get further into the install process but it hangs. I get a UAC prompt and choose "install anyway". The display flickers on and off like its installing graphics card drivers and about 1/5th of the way through my system just hangs with the fan speed going full whack.

I've read the thread from top to bottom and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
