    Hi guys,

I have a VPCZ11 that I bought last year. It's got the 256GB SSD (4x64GB). The thing that is starting to irritate me is that prior to booting to windows I get that blinking cursor for a long time before the logo appears. Is there something wrong with my SSD's?? It never used to take that long, probably around 10 seconds.

Any ideas on what might be the problem

I have some issues as well. After doing some SSD tweaks (per forum here) and removing programs from the startup list and most of the bloatware, my boot time went from 25 to 45 seconds. I have 128GB original SSD array, i5-520 and 8GB. 45 is not exactly slow, but I would expect better. Could I have removed a startup program or "bloatware" that actually speeds boot times? I am far from a noob, but this is my first Vaio and I admit to being early on its learning curve.

Your forgetting it's running RAID0. Which goes through a process of initializing disks, checking the RAID etc.).

Although mine still starts in about 30 - 35 seconds. It's really normal behavior, a price you pay when running ultra-fast RAID.
