Hi, i'm a little confused. yesterday my ex chief called me and he said that i can buy the VPCZ21V9E to the price of € 2394,00 (the normal price in italy is € 2699) included taxes....the problems are:
    - the ssd is not SATA3
    - the dock has a normal dvd, not a bluray writer
    - the screen is not a full hd....
the price of a Z21 CTO with this things is about € 3000,00 (without wwan, i don't use it, i have an iphone 4g and a samsung galaxy s and i don't have a dedicated sim card for internet)....
which model i have oto buy? i use the laptop in my work, building web sites, softwares, running virtual machines (sometimes)...thank you so much ;)

I would go for the CTO with SATA3/BluRay/Full HD.

It depends on your need and your budget. Do you want 900p or 1080p? Personal preferences are pretty sharply split with those who want the higher resolution not being satisfied with the lower while there are those who prefer the 900p and will not be visually comfortable with FHD.

Do you need a Blu-Ray? Do you do the sort of disk-intensive work for which SATA-3 might make a noticeable difference. Then there's the price issue. For some people the stock Z2 would be budget-budget busting while other people figure that if they're already spending €2400 they may as well spend a little more and get what they really want. Only you know your priorities and limitations.

i think that i will use this laptop for 2-3 years for working every day.....i'm a little bit scared about the news that the z21 will be discontinued and maybe the z22 will come out with ssd sata 3 but i could be more expensive in the shop (the same thing that happen with z11 -> z12)

hehe... what's there to be scared about in it? Products come and go all the time... doesn't mean what you have will stop working.. it'll keep on working as it is..

btw, your way overpaying for a laptop... Euro 2000 + for a laptop..sheesh! No wonder these companies make money from enterprises! (and no, cost doesn't translate into quality always)
