I have an old Sony Vaio R505TS with Hitachi 20GB hd.
The hd is dead, and I tried to replace it with Seagate 20GB, but it won't detect it. If I tried with the Hitachi again, it will detect without a problem. The Seagate is detected no problem in my desktop, so it works fine. Is notebook usually designed to be compatible with only certain hd manufacturer ?
