    Hello, everybody...

I am a bit new around here after been reading this forum for years decided to join in.....

After searching the forum back and forth I couldn't find your reviews/comments regarding Sony Vaio AR model.

Is there an AR user out here who can shed a little bit more light about this model.

According to specs and pricing I found on this site, seems like a good deal:
    1.86-2.0 GHZ (T7100-7500) proccesor, 2GB RAM, 120/200 (5400/4200)HDD, NVIDIA Graphics - All tht for $ 1,100 - 1,300.

    Any comments are appriciated.....

    Regards, JetBlue.....

I got an AR at the beginning of summer. Must say that I love this computer. Some people have noted that the computer is big, but this is my first laptop so I dont have any problems with it. All in all, they are pretty solid. Mine has an amazing screen, 1920 x 1200 and comes with a blu ray drive to make the screen look better. Everything runs fast and you can play some games on it... pretty solid overall

I don't own an AR Vaio, but for a long time I have considered getting one as a desktop replacement. If it was just sitting at my desk I wouldn't care about the size and weight of the machine. It is a pity there are not more threads about the AR.

well i owned an ar-11m the battery life was ok....i had vista ultimate clean installed in it because mine came with xp mce and a whole lot of stuff sony had added in which i didnt want. i got around 45 min - 1 hour on it...as far as the heat is concerned didnt bother me much....hardly felt it heating up....but i wouldnt agree on the desktop replacement badge that some people would give the AR series. The thing is that it just cannot play games properly i mean i installed command and conquer 3 (the new one) and i had a lot of distortion in the speakers and sometimes while the game would be running it will crash. Didnt really liked it as far as gaming was concerned. I think a desktop replacement lappy should be able to handle games and other stuff you usually do on a desktop. But thats my opinion. Anyways i would recommend it if you dont have to play games its a good laptop as far as other normal day to day tasks are concerned

I have mine since January is a AR620E, and i love it, is fast and stable even with Vista, right now i'm playing Mass Effects with almost all settings in High and no probs all at 1440x900, Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 run in full too, my primary use is for Video Compositing with Adobe products and 3D with 3DsMax 2009 and work really great for the price, my only complaint is against Vista and Sony drivers, no making possible to recon my 4GB and no transparency upgrade to Vista 64Bit, Regards.

It is a great desktop replacement. I use it for photo processing, web and email. Very stable, wireless works good. Bluetooth links to my mouse with no problems
