    Hi guys ,
    I own a Vaio VGN-AR520E notebook .
Since I have to deal a lot with video and graphical editing I thought to replace the original 200G 4200 rpm disk with a new one , biger and faster or to add a second drive .
Then I've contacted Sony and asked their opinion and I was told that they are not recomment to make any changes in the hard drive configuration and as a solution they advised to add an external drive with a faster rpm through the i.LINK connection .
Regarding it I would like ask you the following questions :

1.Is the iLINK connection faster than USB2 ? As I remember , the data transfer amount through iLINK is 400Mbps and through USB2 is 480Mbps .

2.Would the access time between the CPU and the external 7200 rpm drive be faster by using this connection than the access time to the internal 4200 rpm drive ?

3.Does a such connection give better results for video editing than using the internal drive ?

    Thanks in advance !
