Or a full install of winDVD 9 + BD?

Right now the laptop only outputs stereo over HDMI. I'd like to be able to at least output the 5.1 DTS or DD core stream, and a dream come true would be full lossless (though I doubt that the Sony's soundcard and HDMI can support it).

Anyone upgrade their BD software beyond the built-in free install of winDVD +BD which has known limits?

I downloaded the trial version of PowerDVD Ultra. I was able to downconvert Dolby TrueHD to either DTS or DD. I never had a problem passing 5.1 to my receiver though. I have a FZ348e/b
