I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ390. The battery died and I bought one online that said it was compatible though it is not Sony original. The battery did start the computer but an error box kept popping up saying to check the battery is installed right or read the Vaio manual. The only option it gives is to hibernate. I understand Sony has done some hardware and/or software trick so the computer won't work with a generic battery, but there may be a way around this without affecting other functions. Can anyone help?
