Hi guys, my first post here, hoping to get some advice!

I've got an 8-months old Sony Vaio VGN-CR2. Have not had any issues with it until now, when suddenly my Bluetooth seems to have stopped working.
When going into BT Manager and attempting New Connection, I have a 'Bluetooth not ready' message popping up and none of my bluetooth devices connect any longer.

Have checked Wireless Device Switch (green LAN icon on the task bar) - BT is enabled. Wireless switch is on. All drivers are up to date. Have restarted numerous times.

Does that seem to be a hardware issue, or can anything be done still?

    appreciate your help!!
    cheers guys.

    What'a your operating system?
Is it Vista or XP? Bluetooth under XP is messy...

Then, you may want to try switching bluetooth off in the BIOS, turn your laptop on, turn it off and activate bluetooth in the BIOS again.

If that doesn't help, try reinstalling the drivers for it.

    Another little aspect:
Try to write in as much detail what you did, what operating system your computer uses, possibly your bluetooth drivers.

    Hi!
thank you very much for your reply.
    The OS is Vista.

How do I switch off BT in BIOS? Are there any instructions on that I can follow?

Here are the BT Driver details from Device Manager:

    For Bluetooth RFCOMM -
    Driver Provider: Toshiba
    Driver Date: 8/09/2006
    Driver Version: 4.0.2108.0

    For Bluetooth USB Controller (ALPS/UGPZ6)
    Driver Provider: Toshiba
    Driver Date: 24/04/2007
    Driver Version: 5.0.1624.0

I have tried to update the drivers, but they are the latest ones.

Please let me know if I can give you any more details.

    cheers!

Just enter the BIOS and have look 'round.
You should find the bluetooth and wireless settings pretty quickly.
