Hi, i ordered a vaio c 140/b from coscto recently. It has not arrived yet but i wanted to ask owners of this laptop, and also people who have bought refurbished computers their opinions

I got this laptop for 899 usd refurbished from costco.com (full 1 year manufacturers warranty and costco 90 return policy) and was wondering if i should expect it to be in new condition. Also if you guys think i got a good deal

Also, how is the performane, build quality, weight and screen quality compared to other computers. (specs are in sig)

Just wanted to hear some opinions, anything related to the C series notebook (yes i have run searches and read threads about it/read reviews but i would like to hear what you guys think.)

I had bought a refurbished Toshiba M55 laptop 13 months ago from Costco online and amazingly, it came in just about new condition, only had two very small scratches on the lid where the logo is. It came with everything except for the factory box, I was pleasantly surprised.

Costco contracts with a very expert refurb company. I have purchase two HP notebooks, refurbed, and they arrived complete with all accessories, manuals, etc. Both are still working four years later.

check costcos return policy in ur area. Costco had one of the best return policies or any retailer and it has now changed dramatically especially with electronic goods.

    Also ask about the warranty.

Refurbished laptops are nothing more than used laptops. And most refurbs have very little or expired OEM manufacturers warranties.
My experience with refurbs is the retailer will offer or include a 90day up to (rarely) 1 yr warranty for parts and labor at an 'authorized' repair facility.
Always ask to see the warranty paperwork when buying refurbs. If there no offical warranty certificate (and they use the sales reciept as warranty date) then ask who, what and where is their so called 'authorized' repair facility.

Ive seen too many people get burnt by paying too much attention on the great deal they got and not to ask where its going when it breaks.

thanks for the feedback.. oh and for the warranty.. costco extends manufacterurs waranty for 1 full year after day of purchase and you get the 90 day return policy.

DO you guys think i got a good deal on the notebook... it seemed nice to me.

Will you tell me the condition it's in when you get it? I'm going to consider buying one of these.

I too have purchased things through Costco refurb. I have had no problems with them. The equipment they sell seems to always be in pretty good shape.

Got the laptop about 1 hour ago. Comes with everything except factory box.

The system itself is in absolutely perfect condition. I can't even tell that it is used: no scratches.. anywhere.

First impressions of the machine are good. The screen blows away the screen from my previous laptop the hp dv6258se. It has very solid build quality, and overall is just a great looking system.

Time to continue uninstalling typical sony bloatware!

Congrats for getting an almost new notebook for a good price !.
Those photos look quite good, I miss my old K750 ;) . One of the best camera phones around. I currently have a Nokia N73, but still feel K750 camera is better

1GB is enough, but 2GB is highly recommended. You will experience high response times, delays and lot of hard drive activity (due to the swap file) with 1GB. It would be like XP running with 256MB or 512MB of RAM. To truly experience Vista, 2GB is a must (especially for the premium / ultimate editions).

It all really depends on what you're using the computer for. Interneting, email, chat shouldn't give you any problems.
