I bought a vaio CR-120 at circuitcity last week when it was on sale for 1099.I know that it has core 2 duo T7100 but i noticed that when you go to device manager under processor it says T7300 2.0 Ghz..So is it a T7100 or T7300?

My other question is why the WEI score is only 3.1..I've compared it with other laptop like HP dv2500 SE @bestbuy as well as FZ140 both with the same graphics they get scores of 3.4...My other laptop toshiba A135-4677 even has a WEI of 3.1 but is not Intel X3100...Is WEI scores reliable?

    Mine says the same thing - its actually a T7100 @ 1.8ghz.

I wouldn't really worry about the WEI.

After a fresh install of Vista (from a disk, not from the recovery partition), it is now showing correctly as the T7100. It appears it's just a glitch in the Sony install.

Um, the T7300 only costs on average $75 more than the T7100. $1000 is not cheap btw considering what you can get in a laptop for only $1000.

well anything 2000 and under I consider cheap that's just me. I would think it costs more ( i dont look up laptop parts in prices as u cant actually "buy " them) b/c I have a cheap 2,000 toshiba satellite that's a gaming pc and it has a 7100 in it.. if its just 71 bucks more seems they would've chunked in the better proc... but they def. cant put his super cheap laptop with a better proc than a laptop that is like double ? :-O

it rates its by the lowest thing total so even if he has a 50 core 100 ghz proc, if he has 512 mb memory then he prob have a 2.0 index...

Which is the reason that WEI is completely and utterly useless. It's no way to benchmark a computer.

if thye wanna use it it should go by all subpars like for instance to run quake 3 :
    memory: 3.5
    cpu : 3.0
    gfx card: 3.9

    like dat. that's cool.

oh and I found a good reason for it 2 besides aboev posted, the wei itself can be used just to buy a pc. Like when u go to the stiore they should have that posted up on all teh screens b/c we dont want to see how vista looks we all know, its best to have the technical info up like that and performance charts. Then altho it dont tell u everything, the thing is you know that's the lowest u dunno what others are but if u getting a laptop with like a 4.5 straight ur getting something real good.. if u get a 5.5 or 6.0 u know ur getting a super pc so.. but if ur gettnig something liek a 2.5 or 2.0 then u prob wanna check all hardware lol
