Just got my vpccw26fw from best buy, love everything on it except the sound volume. The 100% sound volume on the CW is not even louder than the 50% on my Z.
Is this a driver issue or the hardware is built like that?
Is there any software to increase the sound volume?

    Thanks guys!

The speakers on the CW have tiny sound. For better sound, I recommend using headphones or external speakers that can connect to the CW.

This doesn't answer the question. It seems the CW's volume on max in Windows is not very loud, but when you use an application like youtube with additional volume controls, the playback seems to exceed the built-in OS limit.

So I'd wager the physical volume can get louder (as witnessed by louder playback on youtube), but whether baseline OS drivers are available, it's unknown at this point.

Right click on the volume control on the taskbar and select "Playback Devices" then double click the "Speaker/HP" device to bring up it's properties. Go to the "Enhancements" tab uncheck the "disable all sound effects" box and check the box for "Loudness Equalization". Make sure to close and reopen all apps that play sound such as iTunes..

Well, I know iTunes has a preamp, and for the CW speakers I've found that this is a good preset for them.. much louder and they crackle...

Use the default Windows 7 audio driver for more internal speaker volume.

I guess coolguy is saying that the default HD Audio driver that ships with Windows 7 is louder than the Realtek driver provided by Sony. In which case just uninstall the Realtek Driver from the Programs and Features control panel.

Just uninstall the Realtek driver, then restarter your CW. Windows will automatically install the driver for you. But then your microphone won't work anymore..so thats the tradeoff..

Microphone will work if you change the default recording device.
