After over 15 hours of effort, I finally managed to get a clean XP install on my Vaio C22GH (The same as Vaio C240 in the US) except for one thing.
(full story here -> http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=111827)
The battery indicator displays only the percentage remaining , and not the time remaining.
I installed NHC too but still no go.
NHC also displays just the battery % remaining, and does not show the discharge rate, and time remaining as it does on my Compaq and Dell.
Even while charging, NHC does not show the charging rate.
Is there some kind of an issue with ACPI control on all Vaio machines, or is it happening only for me?
I even tried Batterymon but same problem...
I am also worried that if ACPI isn't working, the battery charging would perhaps not stop even when the batttery is at 100%
Would appreciate if someone running XP on a Vaio SZ or Vaio C would post their comments...

I don't have a clue but I think I remember reading somewhere that you need some specific drivers with the VAIO that is required for the battery indicator to work correctly. Can't be sure though. I am using a SZ4 and my battery indicator is working fine - although I haven't wiped it.

So does your battery indictor show the time remaing?

MY C-Series is kind of like yours in that it doesn't show the voltage, and in NHC it says it's a "nonrechargeable battery". But, it still is able to show the time remaining, and I haven't done anything to it(like add additional drivers).
