    Hi,
What happens if I uninstall "Vaio Entertainment Platform" from Add/Remove Programs?
Is this linked to the automatic startup services (under administrative tools/services) named:
    Vaio Entertainment Database Services
    Vaio Entertainment File Import Service

I'm trying to cut out any unnecessary processes/services that may be running in the background, I am specifically curious about these. If anybody knows what they are please comment. Thanks in advance!

It is a piece of support software for the Vaio Media application. The Vaio Media application allows you to share your digital media on a network. (I think it is designed to allow you to play mp3's and video on your home network, not the Internet.) But the Vaio Entertainment Platform is used by Vaio Media to catalog the files. If you don't want the Vaio Media app you don't need the Platform. (BTW the Platform is also what installs a named instance of SQL Server Express on your machine. Uninstall the platform and SQL server is also uninstalled.)
