Hi there, I have created this thread so that hopefully all the people that have bought an F Series Vaio with (so called)Vaio Display Premium(EU/US Display) and found stuck pixels, or they have had stuck pixels develope later, will come forward. I am interested to see just how many people have had this problem, which I encountered myself in 2 F series that I took back to the shop, for this very same problem.

perhaps you should add "no bad pixels" to your poll???

Like beaups said, you need a "no bad pixels" option. I can't vote in this poll because of that.

This may sound daft, but how do you edit the poll options, as I have tried but it doesn't seem as though I can edit them.

Doing a search on this, it looks like only Mods can edit Polls. So, I guess you can either try to get in touch with a Mod, or leave this one the way it is, or start over.

    Hi,
I had recently bought a brand new Sony Vaio VPCF130FD. I had to go to the store 3 times and get 3 replacements because that laptop had a dead/stuck pixel. After finally returning the third one and getting the full refund I had decided just to be extra cautious when buying anything that had LCD on it.
I am pretty sure all the people here claiming they don't have a dead or stuck pixel after running some tests will realize that they do have some.
To me it is definitely unacceptable when buying a product from a manufacturer being known as one of the best to be told that according to their policy it's OK to have certain number of dead pixels.

That's a pretty ludicrous claim. I have run tests and do not have any at all. I'm sorry you've had problems with yours but that doesn't mean everyone has to.

Edit: Also, I've never had a dead or stuck pixel on any laptop I've owned.

I can assure you that it is not such a ludicrous claim. I have had 3 F Series laptops now that have all developed at least one stuck pixel. I have never had a vaio before which developed a stuck pixel, and to be honest I was quite shocked to discover 3 of their high end models with stuck pixels. I guess that Sony's quality has deteriorated over the years, as my brother has had his vaio for 5 years without any problem.

    F13 Premium (EU)
    1st had 10+ (replaced / repaired)
2nd had like 4~5 next to each other creating white dot....

I question how unlucky one has to be to get 2 suxy LCDs on "top" model heh.

Finally managed to return it... while loved display for colors and semimatt finish, amount of pixels + dark bar at bottom of LCD on "Premium" screen were one of main reasons to get rid of it asap for me.

I don't think so based on what I read on the net...

It is absolutely unreasonable, ludicrous, ridiculous, devoid of all common sense, etc.... to claim that EVERYONE with an F series HAS to have stuck pixels. If you want to claim otherwise, then you are clearly here trolling.

I do not think that everyone who has an F series has to have stuck pixels, because not all of them will have the premium screen, and, as I am sure that you are aware, the screen on the EU version is completely different to the US version. What I do believe is that there is quite possibly more of these screens that do have stuck pixels than those that do not. It is fairly uncommon for a screen to have stuck pixels and it is not to be expected, so frequently, on equipment from a high end, well recognised brand.

No matter what you, guys say/think about SONY it is fact that they do have stuck/dead pixel(s). I used to think the same as you do about SONY but due to my recent experience with Vaio I've changed my mind.
SONY's laptops are not that unreasonably overpriced like Apple's for example but still... It is not Acer or Asus or whatever brand you want to say "OK, I paid $300 and I can expect to get a dead pixel on my brand new laptop". It's SONY and people think quality is excellent while it is NOT (may be it is used to be). Period.

The point is that not every single unit could possible have bad pixel(s). So...by not including a "no bad pixel" option in your poll, there is no way to derive any meaningful data. What exactly are you trying to figure out? If you are trying to figure out what % of people have bad displays, it's impossible due to the way you setup the poll.

If you are trying to troll, then mission accomplished.

Then how would you explain that 3 consecutive identical brand new F series Vaio laptops had dead / stuck pixels? And that's not just with me.

I am not trying to troll whatsoever, it was an honest mistake. If you are going to make comments like this, then please do so somewhere else. I think that it is you that is trolling by posting on this thread, as this is a thread, which I created to find out which people have stuck pixels and only those people should respond. I am not interested in finding out about the people who have laptops that do not have a stuck pixel. Please read the title.

Mean no offense but, as you can see by the number of posts in this thread and the number of votes on the poll not every F series screen has stuck pixels. 4 people out of thousands of F series models sold doesn't really count does it? :)
If you were to create a thread like this for every laptop I am sure you would have lots of votes for stuck pixels.Maybe much more than 4
