Does anyone know if the vaio premium display has an IPS panel or a VA?

I'm currently waiting for my F2290S (canada's F2290X US version) and I would like to know.

    Thanks

I have a VPC-Z1 and it's definitely not IPS because it has rather bad viewing angles. Not quite sure about the F though, though I've read reviews and viewing angles seemed above average.

Both F21 3D and F22 2D seem to be using some advanced VA type screen but with IPS like viewing angles.
Sites like notebookcheck seem to think its IPS and many users too but not sure as Sony does not reveal panel details.
But rest assured, it is NOT TN. :) Mostly VA but maybe IPS, no clear info. Notebookcheck reviewed even the HP dreamcolor IPS but they say that F 3D has the best viewing angles of any laptop they have ever tested!
Here is a video showing the viewing angles on it

Ok. How's the viewing angles on your VAIO Z217GG/B? Speaking of which, your notebook is such a dream :D

    Re: VPCF2290X 2D 's display question
    Hello!
Chat support on sony.com just confirmed that Sony Vaio F22 has "FULL HD LCD with LED backlight which is VAIO Premium Display"

The US CTO version of the F22 is the VPCF2290X do you think the canadian version VPCF2290S is the equivalent?

    Thanks :)

    LOL!
I don't have it yet, will get it the day its launched. Sometime in August I am told :(
As for the Z217 screen, nope its not IPS. Its a TN panel with above average viewing angles but nothing IPS like about it :)

In the Sony UK website, the latest Z series has only one type of display for the 1600x900 panel (default) and the optional 1080p panel.. and that is VAIO PREMIUM display :D

No, Vaio Z series comes with ONLY Vaio Display PREMIUM. Both 1600x900 and 1920x1080 are PREMIUM displays :)
