    Vaio F11 - amps and power adaptors

    I am looking for a spare power adapter for my F11. Sony seems to have stopped making the AC19V15 that came with it. Lots of other floating around, but most are 4.7 amps and not 6.2 as is mine. Sony even says that some with less amps are 100% compatible. But I read some places that you can't go DOWN in amps from your spec.

    Anyone understand this? Will less amps and same voltage work? Any recommendations?

    I think that it will be ok. Looking at the innergie website, that makes sweet universal adaptors, the VAIO F option is 4.62amps

    As a rule, you should not go DOWN in amps. What can happen is the machine may not be able to charge while on/under load. It should charge when powered down, though, regardless.
