Hi
I have a VGN-FE21M and just recently I have noticed that the battery will not hold charge for more than an hour or so. Now today when I switched on it won't hold charge at all! In fact when I click on the power management icon on the desk top the battery is not even recognised. I just pulled out the power lead to see if the battery then became recognised and the machine instantly turned off. I now have to have the machine plugged into the mains for it to boot up as soon as I switch off mains power the machine powers down.
Has anyone else had the same problem? - is it the battery as I suspect or something else? Not recognising the battery worries me that it is something more complicated than just replacing the battery
Thanks for your help and advice if you can give me some!![]()

I think it's mist likely that your battery died. Did you check your device manager for the battery? And how old is your notebook, do you use it on battery often or was it on ac power most of the the when you've used it? Could you also mention what serial nr. and model nr. the battery has, or google them yourself? There have been a few problems with a couple of Sony battery's, and Sony offers a free replacement for those.

Same problem on my FE21M battery... Shipped the note plus battery at Sony Repair Service for other problems, they say that the battery was died and need to replace it for only 300 euro
I've bought a new one on e-bay (a BPS2C - 5200mAh) for 80 euro shipped to my Home... but I'm note sure if it's an original one! -
Same problem to me too and also one friend of mine.
We both had VGN-FE21M. Our batteries died approximately one year
after we bought the laptop. We bought a new one from e-bay for 50 euro. -
I have the same problem 1 year later now and my battery won't last an hour. I wanna buy a new one, are the one from ebay genuine?
