Hi
Considering buying a UK spec Vaio FW laptop. How easy is it to upgrade the memory on this?
From 4 to 8 GB. Looking at the spec on the Sony UK site it looks like it's already fitted with 2x2GB RAM
And would either of these brands be compatible? - Crucial.com or Orcalogic.co.uk
Thanks for your help![]()

You just need to remove 2 screws to remove the access panel. It's piece of cake!

They even give you the instructions in the user manual

Heh. Do they, that's nice of them.
I've ordered the laptop from Amazon UK and the 2 x 4GB upgrades- it's £400 cheaper than ordering it direct from Sony. Have to figure out the best way to upgrade from Windows 7 Home to Pro now... -

Unless you need Volume Shadow Copy, Bitlocker, and the ability to log onto a Domain, Pro is really not necessary. But look *here* for some options.
