Past august, I bought a FW.

On the right part of the screen there was absolutely no blacklight bleeding.
Now it's seems as an internal opening has hatched between the lcd and the bezel and light is passing by. It's like you could see behind the lcd.

When I'm in front of the computer you can barely see it, but being at a certain angle, you can clearly see the white light from top to bottom only interrupted half-way by a one inch dark spot, which I presume is the thing that keeps the lcd glued to the bezel.

My question, is it possible for the lcd screen to have been pushed backwards only on the right part of the lcd during transportation?

    Thanks!

Email this question (but without the speculation as to transportation) to [email protected]. The little rubber extrusions added to the bezel should prevent any contact with the screen and the rest of the computer.

You're still in warranty but you don't want to invoke any hint of "accidental" damage unless you have that extended service plan. After all, you don't know that the notebook had an accident, do you? Are there actual scratch marks and "violent" separations visible?

I don't think normal wear and tear should mean this type of occurrence is standard. A scratch on the palmrest, yes; a blotch on the screen, no. Again, [email protected] for the customer service reps who will forward it to the techs -- then you have two sets of eyes reading your message.

    Let us know what happens.....

    Thanks.

I don't think myself that it was a transportation problem since I'm really careful with that stuff. In my Swiss army laptop compartment backpack and with a sleeve.

And no, they are zero scratch marks or violent separation. It's like the right part of the lcd went backwards but only the distance of the thickness of a hair...

To describe it in a more visual way only...it's like the entire lcd moved to the left a thickness of a hair, letting a lot of light escape on the right side and being actually able to see between the lcd edge and the bezel but no destruction, scratch mark, crack whatsoever at least from the outside.

    I'll follow your step.
I sure hope the guarantee covers it.
