Refering to the attach picture. I noticed there been different on the design below the hdd area. Is that a new fw model? Quite confusing..

I think this was discussed before though I'm not sure what the conclusion was... anyway. I don't think it's a new model or smth it's just a design detail depending on which HDD an FW uses.

For models with dedicated graphics the hdd sticks down in the FZ series. It should be the same with FW.

This makes senses, but any FW users out there can confirm this?

There are no FW models with only intel gfx, all have ATI dedicated.

What about this VGN-FW270J/B model below with only mention of Intel integrated graphics?

I'm sure that the bulge is for the models with dedicated graphics.

Below are pictures of the VGN-FW290JQB with ATI graphics and VGN-FW270J/B with Intel graphics respectively from Newegg.

My FW140 has dedicated graphics but doesn't have the bulge on the right side.

I have FW190 CTO with dedicated graphics and it has the bulge on the right side. So, this is not a new design. If I am not mistaken, the CTO (Configured to Order) has the bulge, while the pre-configured doesn't. At least this is the case with FZ models.

Wow, did not know there are FW models with only dedicated gpu, it seems they are for USA market only, in europe - all models have ATI gpu.

You mean integrated GPU right? Because the ATI GPU is classified as dedicated/discrete whereas the Intel one is classified as integrated.

Really? I saw both FW side by side today at currys and both listed with ATI graphics (didn't catch the model) and one had a extended bit and the other hasn't.

The base of the preconfigured FZ's without the bulge is slightly thicker. I don't know how the base looks in the FW.

I have looked various reviews site, and all of the model with HD3650 have that bulge. But cant confirm the bulge cause by this type of graphic card. Maybe because of hard disk larger than 250GB??
