I just found this pic on Flickr. Too bad the image is so small.

Looks like the FW's power button is the same style as like the X505 and TZ, on the side of the case.

Is it just me or has the hinge system for the screen changed? It appears to be more like that of the M1330/1530.

    I think so.

It looks like the TZ hinge, but not centered (screen on top of the cylinder part instead of the middle) which I guess is basically like the M1330/1530 hinge.

Its not the greatest ad in the world is it. It does suggest though that the FW may have more HD support than what the FZ, perhaps higher resolution screens? Or that lower range FWs may have blu-ray where the equivalent FZ didn't. That would be the pretty obvious thing for Sony to do with the FW.

What if because of Centrino 2's delay, the first new models from Sony will be using current processors and chipsets? :(

Still says FZ contains Core Duo technology on the bottom...if this is a real ad, it's pretty sad.

Inconsistent language (Spanish on bottom) and low-quality Intel logo suggests this is a fake. And poorly done one, too.

I don't think Sony is so stupid to do such a thing. They will loose a lot of customers if they update models with the old chipset, when Centrino 2 is so near. In my opinion, in a few weeks they will appear the first Sony models with Montevina for pre-order, and they will start shipping in August.
I really hope Intel makes an official statement for the ULV that they gonna be reguraly released in September.

I think all signs point to it being discontinued soon and being replaced by a new model.

Mysony, a New Zealand official Sony products community operates one of the most accurate online vaio stores I know of. They on Friday started listing the CR, AR and TZ as 'end of line product' with a small price decrease. The FZ, UX and NR have no change yet (sony has been upgrading the site over the weekend so I can't get on it now).

The TZ should not be end of life just yet since it cannot be updated/replaced until Fall at the earliest when Montevina SFF is released, same with the UX and G series.

If the CR and AR are to be end of life and should soon be replaced, so should the FZ and NR.

    Any news of the SZ?

I'll wait for the site to go back, probably Monday afternoon NZ time.
