    it's a pimped out model

i'm gonna go to the store in the next hour to see if they have it on display
but i'm guessing with so many models they're not gonna have them all out

not bad, JR has good prices, bought an mp3 player from them, the model wasn't available in canada, but an 8 gig model I got cost the same as the 4 gig priced here.

at 1999,99 with exchange rate, shipping and duties (taxes) it would come out to around 2500 canadian give or take 50 bucks, the same spec on the sony style site with the video premium comes out to the same price as the one in the US, if you cut out the video premium (170$) then you can get the same spec from sony here for 2250 or so. Which is pretty competitive to JR.

Sounds good but I cannot find specs on that laptop at J&R just some specs and also I would like extended battery. And, if you buy from a retailer, can you buy extended warranty form Sony?

The FW198 is more than I need in an FW, personally... but it's the best price I've seen for this particular model.

Still need extended battery and if sony will let me buy extended warranty but still where would I get extended battery? The price is excellent for all you get.

I'm gonna have to make my way over to the sony store in the next day or two :)

as far as the warranty, it shouldn't be a problem buying it if you don't buy from sony.

When i bought my toshiba from a 3rd party, i just went to toshibas website after and entered my info.
I know it's a different company, but i'm sure things are pretty similar.
The 3rd party sometimes offers the extended warrenty during checkout
