I'm using my laptop more and more since moving countries and leaving my desktop machine behind for the moment..

I have dropped back to XP64 and while I have the drivers for the bluetooth I'll be damned if I can find the software which will actually install properly...

Does anyone have or know which version is suitable for XP64?

The Broadcom Driver suite will cover all versions of Windows since 2000. And since Sony uses ALPS bluetooth modules, they are Broadcom references, so their driver suite will accommodate it. You can find it *here*.

Yeah that's what I thought, but when I run the package it fails on the driver totally and will not continue the setup.

Have been looking for Widcomm 5.1 but can't find a working copy, or a download that seems trustworty..

It is not a huge issue, I don't use it that often, but it would just be nice to stick two fingers upto Sony support and have a full working setup :D

Try these...* HERE* I scrounged those up off my external driver HDD. 500GB of nothing but drivers and their past versions..lol. I also have 5.6 that's suppossed to support XP x64, so if those give you trouble too, let me know.

Thanks HAL for the software, install without a hitch but just don't see the device lol.. M$ can scan and see my phone, but doesn't install any services from it and the Widcomm program like I said just does not see the device :(

Ah well, can't win em all :)

Ahh... I see now. The Microsoft bluetooth stack is taking precedence over the Widcomm one. That was a common problem with XP. You have to disable the Microsoft stack manually, and specify the Widcomm one. XP was HORRIBLE with bluetooth radios and devices for just that reason. Most people just plug in the adapter, then XP installs it's generic software stack... when what should have happened was the Widcomm stack should have been installed before anything bluetooth was inserted or plugged in. This was even more of a common problem for notebooks with internal bluetooth modules, as the Microsoft stack was installed from the get-go. Ugh. I hate Windows sometimes.
