    Hi,

    I've got a Vaio FZ.

The card reader doesn't work, i've put a card in, and nothing has happened.

Any ideas how to make it work?

    Thanks

    What card in which slot?

This page suggests that the FZ has two slots and supports Memory Stick™ Std / Duo, Memory Stick™ PRO Std / Duo and SD in the other slot (might include SDHC but you might need the newest driver and, if XP, a hotfix).

64MB! That's old. I assume you have checked it in another device to be sure that it hasn't died of old age.

All I can think of is to check in Device Manager to see if the SD card reader is present and working. On my Sony G11 with Vista it is under the Disk drive category.

Assuming you go to "My computer" and see both SD and Memory stick drives (Usually E or F units), make sure the SD card is NOT password protected. If it is you won't be able to access or reformat the card.

    Hi,

I'm still getting constant problems with the card reader.

it now knows that a card is in there, but after reading and writing on a card the next time I put it in Windows tells me I must format the card. If i use an external card reader this does not happen.

Sometimes it fails when formatting as well.

    Very annoying - any fix?
