Has anyone noticed that left click feels little soft compared to right click, looks like the click buttons get pressed more in the center than on the outer edge. I'm thinking if I should return it, but if the problem is with entire FZ series, then there is no point in returning it. Can anyone please confirm this.

It's with all the FZ models. Don't bother wasting your time returning it.

Is it some design flaw, or its supposed to serve any purpose? Rest of the construction seems solid except for the keyboard, which feels wavy, but may be a black keyboard on silver color body gives that illusion of contrast, but its not a big issue, but touchpad buttons feel soft. Is it the case with all sony vaio models. I've used HP before and it feels quite good.

Well if it was a design flaw, surely Sony would have made a recall or something. I think it's Sony's way of showing how "unique" they think their Vaio's are. Just use your Vaio a lot and you will get used to it...eventually.

Is it specific to Fz series or all other sony vaio models have soft touchpad buttons. I haven't used vaio before but have got positive reviews from my friends, so just curious to know how is the quality for other vaio models.

It's a design flaw...I don't see why they would do that on purpose, as it makes the button harder and somewhat akward to push. I returned my FZ and got another and it had the same problem. I tap the touchpad to click so it isn't a big deal to me, just kind of disappointing as far as build quality goes.

There are so many FZ users on the forum, but not many are mentioning about soft touchpad buttons, so I am wondering is it common with Sony models. Maybe since this is my first vaio, so its feeling little different. Would talking to sony cutomer service help to fix it? any suggestions?

No man, I posted the same thing when I first got mine and others said theres was the same way. I'm 100% positive it's a design flaw.
