    Hi all,
I own a VAIO FZ 190 CTO, and noticed that the hinge seems a bit weak. Were I to close the computer and hold it vertically, as if carrying it under my arm (or upside down), gravity will cause the screen to flex away from the palm rest nearly an inch. Are there any other owners out there with similar problems, or have I gotten a lemon?
    Thanks!

I don't know why no one will help you, but it sounds like you have a lemon (not totally sure though).

On my FZ190, it feels pretty sturdy, if you think its too weak you might want to return it.

Mine closes and remains closed even when I'm carrying it around in my arm, so I would call up Sony (or where you bought it) and ask for an exchange.

I dont own a FZ190 but arent all the FZ models the same (physical case)?

My FZ160 does not have this problem and I played around with this model and the FZ180 in many stores and they did not either. I would say you have a lemon.

Thanks for the response folks, I'm sending it in for repair. Pretty irritating, as this is the *second* FZ I've bought now, having sent the first one back because the base was warped and didn't sit flat on my desk. Unbelievable and very, very frustrating.

That's a shame, really, because the design is quite beautiful, but they just don't seem to follow through with the quality control and engineering.

Hmmm, well I figured that all of the FZ's must do it so I didn't bring it up but mine does come out about a centimeter or so. It's not that a deal breaker for me because I rarely carry it in my arm because I have a case. I'm guessing you just got a weak hinge as did I but I'm not complaining. I'm happy with the FZ so far and I love it.

I noticed that my FZ laptop doesn't sit flat on the desk. There is little gap below the from left corner. I'm going to use it for a week just to see if it settles down after some use.
