Ok, so I ordered a Refurb Sony FZ290 for the sole reason of the blu ray rewrite capabilities and the fact that it said it had a 2.4 GHz T7700. When I go into the Control Panel and look at the hardware it says its 2 1.8GHz T7100 processors... Which one is it? I feel like I have read something similar to this before but I cannot find it again. Also, the computer will not hook up to my gateway 24" monitor via HDMI. This is the only computer my monitor wont recognize. On my HP dv9700t all of the specs match. Does anyone know whats up with either the HDMI or more importantly the Processor issue. If this is actually the 1.8GHZ, Sony is going to have one unhappy customer and a return they better fully credit to me.

I've read a similar issue with the FZ a while ago. I think the solution to that is a driver update from "VAIO web support" or "VAIO update".

The processor issue is purely cosmetic. Because they use one image file to load the hard drives of several different models in the FZ line, they all show the speed of the machine used to create the original image. The processor can be checked with the CPU-Z app, but I am sure you got the right one. The cosmetic issue can be fixed in one ot two ways, download the patchj from the SOny Support site or go into device manager and remove the cpu entry and reboot. The first way is the better and less scary of the two.
